In Schlarb, Ohio, “weird” is the new “normal” as every resident seems to have their own, singular mental illness. Dickie (Toby Radloff, “real life” star of Harvey Pekar’s AMERICAN SPLENDOR) is a lonely dumpster diver whose terminal loneliness seems to be cured when he finds the corpse of a beautiful woman. Pricey is a mute who carries around her own look-alike doll. The Clapper thinks he can make things happen by clapping his hands, while The Licker feels compelled to taste nearly everything he encounters. These unfortunate misfits populate TOWNIES, a cult film of blackly comic proportions from Wayne Alan Harold.
